3D Secure

We've made our site even more secure!
At Mandy’s Pleasures your security is our highest priority, so we have invested in additional security to give you added peace of mind.
3D Secure acts like a Chip & Pin for your online purchases and protects you by asking for a secret password. The new step within the payment process allows your card issuer the ability to fully authenticate cardholders during the online purchase, reducing the likelihood of fraudulent usage.
What is 3D Secure Authentication?
3D Secure stands for 3 Domain Secure. There are 3 parties involved in the 3D Secure process which are:
- The Vendor
- The Acquiring Bank
- Visa and MasterCard
3D Secure is a culmination of ‘Verified by Visa’ and ‘MasterCard SecureCode’. It is the latest fraud prevention initiative launched by card schemes as a more secure method for authenticating the shopper at the time of the transaction.
What is Verified by Visa?
Verified by Visa is a new security system that tells on-line retailers and banks that you are a genuine cardholder when you shop on-line. It allows you to use a personal password to confirm your identity and protect your Visa card when you use your card on the Internet, providing greater reassurance and security.
It is easy to enroll, simple to use and works with all Visa cards. It is also free.
How does Verified by Visa work?
- Contact your bank who can register your card for Verified by Visa in just a few minutes.
- Once your bank has activated your card, Verified by Visa protects you at every participating on-line store.
- When you shop at a participating on-line store, your card will be automatically recognised as protected by Verified by Visa.
- When you are completing your purchase, your issuing bank will verify your password.
To recognise a Verified by Visa store, look for the Verified by Visa symbol on the retailer’s web site.
What is MasterCard SecureCode?
MasterCard SecureCode is a programme designed to provide the added security of having issuing banks authenticate their individual cardholders and qualify their online transactions for protection.
How does MasterCard SecureCode Work?
When a cardholder submits their online order at a participating merchant, the MasterCard SecureCode solution performs the following to ensure that the cardholder is authorised to make this transaction:
- It initiates a pop-up window from the card issuer prompting the cardholder to enter their unique personal code.
- The issuer validates the personal code and approves the transaction.
Is MasterCard SecureCode easy for online shoppers to use?
Yes. Cardholders simply enter their private MasterCard SecureCode in a pop-up window provided by their card issuer on their PC before their online transaction can be completed. The card issuer is responsible for validating and safekeeping this code.
Does MasterCard SecureCode also support Maestro cards?
Yes. MasterCard SecureCode provides a new way for issuers to support Maestro debit transactions over the internet. This allows more cross-border transactions with merchants in countries where debit is more established than credit.
